One of the most acclaimed and interesting outputs of Margiela’s practice was his long-lasting collaboration (until the 2003 A/W season) with Deanna Ferretti Veroni, who founded the esteemed Italian knitwear company Miss Deanna. The close collaboration between the designer and the producer allowed for the creation of a very limited collection of pieces, featuring the highest-quality fabrication, special treatments, and experimental cuts.
The simple t-shirt, upon closer inspection, reveals many interesting details and design solutions. Notice the horizontal seam on the front, which allows for a single piece of fabric to lay over the shoulder. There are also more subtle details, such as the play between the directions of the weave in each fabric element. Crafted from medium to heavyweight cotton. Produced by Miss Deanna in Italy.
